DVD Digital imagines Victoria Co. Marriage records

Hello All,
I received a (very) belated B-day gift today and thought you all might like to hear about it as it was a copy of the DVD Digital images of Victoria Co. Marriage records, the CBGHA project that was done by Juanita MacDonald. I had no conception of how huge an undertaking this was until today and my thanks go out to the CBGHA for even attempting this project.

I know my CD was a gift but even at $25.00/$30.00, at such a low cost, this CD is money well spent for genealogists who are researching their Cape Breton roots. And for those of you who cannot manage a trip to Cape Breton or the NSARM in Halifax, you will now have the records in front of you for marriages that have been performed and registered with the Province for the County of Victoria (and the other Counties as they become available).

When, and if you can manage a trip to Cape Breton, you will now have the time for other items to research e.g. Births, Deaths, Parish records, Cemeteries etc.etc. and the best part is, you won't have to leave the Island to do so. The Family History Centre, the Beaton Institute, the Highland Village Museum as well as many local museums have copies of just about any record the Genealogist might need.

The CBGHA and it's Members who volunteer their time and effort completing these hugh projects deserve our congratulations and thanks for making it much easier to do our research, especially for those of us who do not live anywhere near Cape Breton.

I am delighted with my gift and will use it over and over. A job very well done, thank you Juanita.

I finished going over all the marriages on the DVD for Richmond. It is wonderful. Found lots of distant cousin marriages. Every record opened - no problems. Junaita you did a another wonderful job. I'll have to find the time now to update my family tree with all these marriages.
